Singapore Hotel Christmas Brunches & Dinners to Check Out in 2016

The Christmas season is once again around the corner and hotels in Singapore are starting to go full-swing with their respective festive menus. This year’s offerings include some of the most decadent feasts ever so there is no excuse to just stay home on Christmas eve if you will be spending your holidays in Singapore!

For those who will be traveling that week, fret not. Some hotels are ringing in the holiday season as early as 18th November with buffet spreads featuring turkey, succulent ham and log cakes among other festive delights.

Here are some details on what’s in store this coming year-end. In alphabetical order they are:

Capella Singapore

The property is one of the few that will be offering a Christmas-themed afternoon tea during the festive season. Filled with sumptuous snacks prepared ala-minute, goodies include Custard Duck Liver with Black Truffle and Port Wine Sauce and Apricot Cardamom Chocolate “Sacher.”

The Christmas Day Brunch is probably one of the most luxurious in the country. It will be held at the resort’s grand ballroom and comes with the option of free-flow Vintage Taittinger champagne which pairs nicely with the likes of Foie Gras Custard with Gingerbread Crouton and Traditional Christmas Turkey.

Christmas Afternoon Tea from 1st to 30th December – $39.90 per person

Christmas Day Brunch – $258 per adult inclusive of free-flow Vintage Taittinger champagne / $198 per adult for non-alcoholic option / $78 per child

Conrad Centennial Singapore

Oscar’s will be churning out festive goodies such as whole turkey with spicy cranberry jus, Christmas ham and twice-cooked pork belly for their buffet. There will also be tantalizing live stations where chefs will prepare the likes of ravioli with prawns or lobster. For dinner buffets, there will also be an extended dessert section.

Diners can also choose from four different log cakes as they pass by The Terrace on their way home, including a Praline Cointreau Chocolate Swirl that contains alcohol.

Prices:

From 1st to 30th December with the exception of the 24th to 26th, dinner buffet at $75++ adult / $37.50++ per child every Sunday to Thursday and $86++ (adult) / $43++ (child) from Fridays to Saturdays. On Christmas eve, the dinner buffet is priced at $158++ (adult) / $79++ (child) with soft drinks and juices

Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

One of the best hotel buffets in the east coast of Singapore, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is rolling out what is looking to be an all-around great value festive buffet starting 1st of December. Diners do get the complete ensemble of Christmas goodies such as Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing and sweet endings like the ubiquitous Yule Log Cake, Homemade Stollen, Plum and Eggnog Puddings with a generous discount when using certain credit cards.

Fullerton Hotel

Along with a bountiful number of Christmas menus in restaurants like Town, Jade and The Lighthouse; Fullerton Hotel will also have a variety of events such as a paper-pleating workshop conducted by Melvin Ong and performances by the Ministry of Bellz, TENG Ensemble and Hwa Chong Voices Choir. The festive season officially starts early at Fullerton Hotel with its Christmas light-up celebration happening on the 25th of November with a charity dinner happening thereafter.

Grand Hyatt Singapore

One of the most extensive festive offering I have personally seen so far this year, the Grand Hyatt Singapore will have five different Christmas concepts – one from each of their restaurants. The most luxurious one is at mezza9 which features lobsters, king crab and a huge butterball turkey. For something different, Straits Kitchen will have a very local festive menu with the likes of double-boiled Chinese herbal soup served in a whole coconut, Indian Hyderabadi dhum biryani (lamb shank with long-grain rice) and Malay kambing cop bakar.

Intercontinental Singapore

From 10th December onwards, Ash & Elm will be rolling out its festive menu featuring fresh and wholesome ingredients. Diners can look forward to refreshing options such as Roasted Quail with Wilted Spinach, Pumpkin Barley Risotto with Piquillo Peppers and Chargrilled Australian Beef Striploin in a semi lunch buffet format.

For Christmas eve dinner and Christmas / Boxing Day brunch, Ash & Elm at Intercontinental Singapore will bring out a smorgasbord of culinary delights including Omi Beef Rib Eye, Tiger Prawns, Kumamoto Oysters and Lobster Risotto. Aside from the exquisite food, the understated ambiance of the restaurant is particularly notable. I also love its high ceiling and usage of natural lighting.

Mandarin Oriental Singapore

Axis Bar, Melt Café, Dolce Vita and Cherry Garden will each hold their own festive offerings for Christmas eve and Christmas day. Guests can look forward to a mesmerizing array of Italian dishes in a buffet spread at Dolce Vita with free-flowing “R” de Ruinart champagne. At Cherry Garden, Christmas dinners take on an oriental twist with dimsum brunch buffets and ala carte specialties.

Pan Pacific Orchard

10 at Claymore will be offering a highly traditional festive buffet daily from the 1st of December onwards with no less than a humongous Roasted Turkey with Cranberry Chutney as its centerpiece. In between; you get plenty of comfort food to feel all warm and fuzzy inside such as Honey Baked Ham, Herb Crusted Organic Rack of Lamb and succulent Blackmore Wagyu slow cooked to perfection.

The restaurant is also offering something highly different from hotels elsewhere with its Christmas Day Family Luncheon – an all-in-one set menu good for up to ten persons and graced by traditional festive delights such as Roasted Turkey, Honey Baked Ham, Angus Prime Rib and Home Made Gourmet Linguica Sausages. There is also a separate Young Adults menu featuring Petite Hawaiian Pizza, Chicken Nuggets and more. My personal favorite is the Cheese Baked Potato and Macaroni.

Pan Pacific Singapore

This property is one of the first in Singapore to ring in the festive season, with Christmas delights gracing the buffet spread as early as the 18th of November. Guests are in for a treat at Edge as they get to partake in a buffet feast spanning seven live stations ranging from house crafted Christmas charcuterie to Wagyu Beef Striploin and other prime grilled meats. There will also be a Traditional Roasted Whole Norfolk Turkey while the dessert section will feature a Fresh Raspberry Log Cake.

Parkroyal on Beach Road

Plaza Brasserie at Parkroyal on Beach Road will be ramping up its buffet to feature a uniquely festive theme from 16th of December onwards. The impressive spread will feature a fusion of western and local culinary creations such as Sautéed Clams in White Wine and Wok-fried Tiger Prawns with Nonya Chilli sitting alongside Honey-baked Ham and Brussels Sprouts.

Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa will be ringing in the festive season with a wide array of Christmas-tinged indulgences to keep the tummy happy during the holidays. From celebratory afternoon tea sets at LeBar to decadent buffet spreads at Kwee Zeen, guests are spoiled for choice with the greatest variety of dining options among the Accor properties in Singapore. For something that is “unique” to this property, you can check out the cliffside IlLido for its 5-course Christmas eve set dinner which can be enjoyed while having sweeping views of the sea.

Modern interpretations of traditional Yuletide flavors will grace the festive set menu with dishes that change every week. Look out for the Beef Wellington with Winter Vegetables, Roasted Chestnut Soup with Forest Mushrooms and the sinful Christmas Trifle.

Each of this luxury’s hotels F&B outlets will be rolling out something special for the festive season. For those looking for the most decadent Christmas dining experience in Singapore, there’s no need to look beyond Brasserie les Saveurs which has been known to throw Christmas dinners filled with over-the-top grandeur and elegance. On Christmas eve, diners can look forward to the likes of Seared Cod Filet wrapped with Parma Ham, a Whole Roasted Turkey as well as Grain-fed Lamb served in a buffet format. On Christmas and Boxing Day, the brunch will feature a hearty selection of seafood such as Freshly Shucked Oysters, Alaskan King Crab and Boston Lobster.

This property just off Orchard Road will be holding its highly popular Penang Hawker Fare Buffet right smack during the Christmas season. Those doing their holiday shopping can head down a few blocks to White Rose Café to enjoy perennial favorites such as Char Kway Teow, Fried Oyster and Penang Laksa in a convivial setting. Aside from partaking in authentic delights prepared by hawkers flown in from the Malaysian island, diners also stand to win lucky draw prizes including a 3-day trip to Penang in February 2017.
