But if you live within North America, then I recommend not buying a CityPass at all. Use your days to walk around and just enjoy NYC. There are plenty of cost effective ways to get your feet wet and enjoy a taste of what NYC has to offer for future visits.

That being said, I suggest the following for first timers: half day in Central Park, take the free walking tour of Grand Central Station, spend an hour or two in Times Square and eat at a nearby restaurant, look for discounted tickets for Comedy Clubs and Off-Broadway performances (usually can find these in or around Times Square), take the Staten Island Ferry (it’s free and gives a great view of the Statue of Liberty), explore Canal Street (NYC’s Chinatown area), walk across the Brooklyn Bridge or take the subway to explore Coney Island for a bit. And if you happen to be in NYC during American Thanksgiving, then grab a spot along the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade route as it is one of the best parades you will ever see!
