The PERFECT Kuala Lumpur Itinerary (KL) 2024 Update – Best Things to Do in Malaysia’s Capital

August 25, 2023 by Bino 3 Comments

Kuala Lumpur (KL) is a city that is all too familiar to me after visiting countless times. As a major transport hub not only within Malaysia but also for destinations around Southeast Asia, the Malaysian capital has long been a popular destination due to its relative ease of access, plethora of eats as well as the iconic Petronas Towers.

There are plenty of attractions in Kuala Lumpur and if you spend two or three days here, you will soon discover that there is so much more to the city than just the twin towers. Over the years, a noticeably prominent coffee culture has also developed, giving way to plenty of concept cafes catering to just about every whim and fancy.

Around the metropolis, you will also discover pockets of culture, whether it be at the Kampung Baru or Brickfields (the city’s Little India). The abolition of GST (goods and services tax) has also made shopping in Kuala Lumpur a convincing proposition and the malls around Bukit Bintang or KLCC are more than happy to oblige.

If you are looking for ideas of things to do, see and eat in Kuala Lumpur (KL); here is a recommended itinerary that you can do in as little as 3 days.

The Perfect Itinerary For Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue In Central Vietnam (2023 Updated Travel Guide)

August 10, 2023 by Bino 20 Comments

The central part of Vietnam where the cities of Hoi An, Hue and Da Nang are located, is considered to be one of the main touristic centers of the country. The region contains a diversity of attractions ranging from a UNESCO World Heritage town to archeological sites and even Vietnam’s former imperial capital. For outdoorsy types, the area also has plenty to offer in terms of beaches and you can find plenty of award-winning luxury resorts here. The world’s largest cave – Hang Son Doong – can also be found in the region.

If you are also visiting Hanoi during your trip to Vietnam, check out my suggested Hanoi itinerary here

If you are visiting Da Nang, Hoi An and Hue and thinking how to organize your itinerary and long you need to spend in the area, I would suggest you go for 5 days / 4 nights minimally. The three cities are accessible from each other to be day trip destinations but I would suggest spending at least a night per city to really appreciate the distinct vibe in each place.

Where you start really depends on your personal preference and where you are coming from. During my trip to Central Vietnam, I arrived via Da Nang International Airport and headed to Hue right away as it was the farthest of the three cities. From Da Nang, Hue is around a 2 hour drive.

The Perfect Hanoi Itinerary (2024) Travel Guide for Vietnam’s Capital

August 1, 2023 by Bino 1 Comment

Vietnam’s capital may be known more than anything for its chaotic and motorbike-filled streets but I have to say that Hanoi remains to be one of my favorite Southeast Asian capitals. There is something about the city that always puts it at the back of my mind as a destination I’d want to visit again and again, with a different Hanoi itinerary each time. It may be the excellent food or the fascinating history or simply the pulsating and distinctively Vietnamese energy. Whatever it is, each visit to Hanoi always leaves me with new finds and restaurants that I won’t hesitate recommending to friends.

For those looking to visit, I have come up with this suggested Hanoi itinerary. Depending on whether you intend to visit Ha Long Bay and Tam Coc, this itinerary is something you can execute in as little as 2 days if you’re coming here only for the weekend or up to 4 days if you intend to make it a short getaway.

The Only Bali Itinerary You’ll Need in 2023 With Ubud, Nusa Penida, Northern & Southern Bali

July 12, 2023 by Bino 2 Comments

Bali is often considered one of the quintessential places to visit in Asia. So strong is its draw that nearly 40% of all foreign tourists to Indonesia make their way to the mellifluous sounding island famous for its unique style of Hinduism, beach clubs, rice paddies and luxury resorts.

Many visitors who hail from nearby countries swear by the allure of its charms. They come to Bali not once or twice but make it an annual affair (or even more often than that). Whether you are into beaches or culture or nature, there is something for everyone here in Bali. In this suggested itinerary, I show you how you can visit Bali for up to a week’s duration. You can easily trim this down, depending on the length of your stay – picking activities here and there dependent on where you are staying.

If you are visiting Bali and contemplating how long you need to spend in the island, I would suggest you go for 5 days / 4 nights minimally if it’s your first time and you intend to explore a bit. While it’s easy to do day trips to various parts of the island, the lack of major highways could mean that you could be facing traffic jams especially in places frequented by tourists.

The Perfect Cambodia Itinerary With Phnom Penh, Siem Reap & Battambang (2023) – One Week Travel Guide

June 20, 2023 by Bino 1 Comment

Cambodia has perhaps been squarely identified with Angkor Wat that those who have not visited are hard pressed to find a different reason to come. For someone who used to be stuck with this mindset, it took me six long years before I made my second visit to Cambodia (my first one was to see the temples of Angkor).  What I discover during my subsequent visits (there have been 7 as of this writing) have always left me eager to uncover more. There are a lot of things that have kept me coming back, including the delicious food, the multifaceted architecture as well as friendly people. For folks who have yet to visit or are deciding whether to do so, I hope my suggested Cambodia itinerary which runs through Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Battambang will be of help!

The Perfect Itinerary for Uzbekistan & Tracing the Ancient Silk Road From Tashkent to Khiva

June 12, 2023 by Bino Leave a Comment

Mention the word Uzbekistan and thoughts of the ancient silk road immediately comes up. Cities such as Bukhara and Samarkand have been etched into many a wanderluster’s minds as being synonymous to adventure and the exotic. These days, Uzbekistan is a frequently touristed destination, though nowhere near popular places such as Thailand or even India. This particular itinerary shows you how you can do the main silk road cities of Uzbekistan in just one week.

Tip: When entering Uzbekistan, you will need to declare exactly how much cash and valuables with you. The key is that after your trip, you should not leave the country with more foreign currency or precious metals than what you came in with. It may be quite a hassle upon arrival as it causes a bit of a queue at customs.
